classes and camps
Children love to participate in the BIC's creative classes, hands-on workshops and week long summer camps. Each year, the BIC offers a variety of different topics and activities, but a key ingredient is always FUN!
The BIC also offers adult enrichment classes throughout the year, exploring topics on a variety of interests, including birding, candle-making, floorcloth design and decoy carving. Additional offerings include certification courses in Boat Safety and CPR.
Also look for the very popular "Dogs on the Farm" Training Classes, bringing a range of dog obedience, K9 Nose Work and companion search training classes.
LECTURES AND ACTIVITIES
The Barrier Islands Center invites a range of voices—including musicians, artists, scientists, historians, and scholars—to engage in dialogue with our audiences, offering multidisciplinary perspectives on a wide variety of topics.
Many of these free and informal presentations are part of our Coffee Hour Lecture Series, the third Friday of each month from September through May at 10:30 a.m. Additional art shows and exhibits are scheduled year-round.
