project TO REVITALIZE THE HISTORIC 1725 QUARTER KITCHEN at BIC
Let's get cookin'
The circa 1725 Quarter Kitchen is a rare piece of history patiently waiting to be rediscovered, shined up and loved. It is threatened by severe deterioration and rot, but you will LOVE the plans for it! It’s time to get cookin’ in this Kitchen!
A RECIPE WORTH SHARING
The brick half will be an artfully-curated kitchen exhibit playing BIC’s newest film, Welcome to the Table. Over in the 1840s wood-frame addition, you (and local schoolchildren) will pickle, can, stew, shuck, preserve authentic seaside dishes and ingredients and connect with local flavors, farmers and watermen. You’ll learn local recipes from Eastern Shore food traditions while celebrating the delicious bounty of our sea and shore. Now THAT’S a recipe worth sharing!
Private foundations, BIC Board Members and many BIC friends have already committed their financial support for this project. Won’t you please join us too? You’re ALL invited to the table, so let’s get cookin’ with BIC!
