After years of dreaming of a coastal lifestyle and launching a barrier islands focused sea salt business, Anna and David Lee pulled the plug on their big city life and moved to the Eastern Shore. They’ve combined David’s career as a boat captain with Anna’s background as a specialty foods executive to create Barrier Islands Salt Co., Virginia’s first coastal saltworks since the 1700s!
They’ve spent three years perfecting their sea salt, and the result is a bright white, flake sea salt with a clean oceanic flavor and a sweet finish. Nature does the heaviest lifting for them, giving them the purest water on the east coast to work with.
