Introduction to K9 Nose Work
The next fun activity for dogs is here on the Eastern Shore! Nose Work is a new activity and sport, based on detection dog training techniques. Help your dog rediscover his ability to follow scent to its source. Any dog can do it, regardless of training and social skills. Dogs are crated between runs, and work one at a time on boxes to develop consistent “hunt drive” and focus. Your dog will be introduced to container, interior and exterior searches, as well. No obedience prerequisite – NoseWork class is a “no obedience zone!” Five weeks, limit 6 dogs.
One Session - 5 classes. Saturdays 9:30 a.m. 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4. Cost: $130.
K9 Nose Work - Interiors
For dogs on any odor. We will be working on special challenges to interior searches, including corners, heights, and thresholds. Pre-requisite: Introduction to Odor or by permission of the instructor. Limit 6 dogs.
One Session - 5 classes. Sundays 11:00 a.m. 1/8, 1/15, 1/22, 1/20, 2/5. Cost $130.
Team up with your dog to fine-tune basic behaviors and learn new ones. Leash work includes heel, polite turns, and speed changes. Sit and down stays with distance, duration and distractions will challenge your dog’s focus – and impulse control. If you think your dog was paying attention before, then stand by to be amazed! This class moves quickly and requires work at home. Prerequisite: Basic Obedience, STAR Puppy or permission of instructor.

Does your dog come when you call, every time you call? If not, then this workshop is for you. A great way to brush up on basic skills that build a reliable recall, and learn games that support this life-saving behavior. Learn how to properly use a long-line to hone this skill. Your dog will also gain experience at recall in the most distracting environment of all - surrounded by other dogs! Basic Obedience required or permission of the instructor.
