Mr. Crossley retired after a distinguished career with the Navy as a weather observer, weather spy and flight forecaster, and then at NOAA’s National Weather Service.
Fay Crossley will take explore the history of hurricanes in the mid-Atlantic, as well as explore the folklore surrounding weather. He will retrace the origins of “old wives tales,” and whether they are good indicators of coming weather events or just idle talk.
